Research Verification

As an Executor or Administrator you have the legal authority, responsibility and duty to distribute the deceased’s estate correctly and could be held financially responsible for any mistakes made through any breach of duty.

To help reduce the risk of errors we would recommend as part of an Executors due diligence that a Research Verification check is completed to ensure no errors or gaps in the research.

It is often the case that the family tree is provided by a single family member or via an amateur genealogist / friend of the family.  We see more and more that "online trees" have been used to confirm family relationships and Harrisons have identified numerous errors and omissions in their checks which ordinarily would have placed the executor or administrator at financial risk.

Research Verification is also a compulsory requirement to obtain Missing Beneficiary Insurance via Harrisons.
